Position: Part Time Crisis / Text Line Advocate
Reports to: Volunteer Coordinator / Executive Director
Scope: The Part Time Crisis / Text Line Advocate is responsible for HopeLine Crisis Line and Text Line coverage during shift times that are traditionally hard to cover with volunteers. Shift times will primarily be evenings and weekends. Official schedule will be set after an applicant is chosen and will be subject to change to reflect the needs of HopeLine. Advocate will work 20-30 hours a week at a rate of $12.50 per hour.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Examples of key responsibilities are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.
Use HopeLine training to answer crisis calls and texts
Complete Reassurance Calls during appropriate hours
Complete call reports, call exceptions, and other logging activities
Embody the HopeLine Active Listening philosophy
Follow all HopeLine policies and procedures
Candidate should possess the ability to be communicative, reliable, computer literate, comfortable with technology and the use of standard HopeLine programs and networks. Applicant must be trained and show proficient skill in HopeLine specific Active Listening. If candidate chosen is not HopeLine Active Listening trained, there will be compensation to complete training. Should possess excellent communication skills and be very comfortable with challenging/ recurring callers and texters. Applicant should be extremely organized, self-motivated, be able to multi-task and also work in partnership with the Volunteer Coordinator and Executive Director.
