The end of September marks the end of National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, but that does not mean that suicide prevention and awareness comes to an end. HopeLine's promise to the community is to support people and save lives during times of crisis through caring, confidential conversations. This means that every day, we are striving to bring light to the darkest places. Over the years, we have had the opportunity to speak with thousands of individuals going through all forms of crisis. In that time, we have captured some of the inspiring things said towards the end of a call or text. National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

According to the CDC, each year more than 41,000 people die by suicide. It is among the top 10 leading causes of death for most age groups, and is the second leading cause among people ages 10-24 - and these rates are rising every year. Millions of people are touched by suicide each day, whether that be through their own suicidal thoughts, the struggles of friends or family, or the loss of someone close to them. At HopeLine, one of our biggest goals is to prevent suicide however and whenever we can.
